Autumn color

T here are a wide variety of trees in Japan, as 70 % of the land is covered by forest.  The leaves change in color from season to season.  The beauty of scarlet maple leaves in autumn is particularly impressive.  In spring cherry blossom front goes from south to north.  In contrast, autumnal leave front moves from north to south.  Many Japanese check the best time on the internet and visit countryside for "Momijigari", viewing beautiful colored leaves.  They sit under maple trees with their families or friends and enjoy picnic lunch.  Such an outdoor party is one of the pleasures of autumn.
